Time: 18:15
Westpac LifeSaver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to conduct a land search in the Minyon Falls area for a missing female with a serious medical condition. The missing person’s car was located at the Minyon Falls lower car park by Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter crew around 6:30pm. Two paramedics were immediately winched into the area to search the vehicle and surrounding bushland. Approximately 15 minutes later the missing person was found nearby in dense forest, she was suffering from mild exposure and was in a serious but stable condition. Further medical equipment and a stretcher was winched to the paramedics to extracate the patient on foot, this was due to the non-life threatening condition of the patient, the dense forest and the need for a very high winch (80 metres).
The patient was stabilised at the scene and transported to hospital by road ambulance.
Pilot: Lynton Beggs
Crew: Mark Sewell
