Hell on Wheels 2009 – October 17 to 24

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

The Wheels are in motion for this year’s ‘Hell on Wheels’
Its back…this time bigger and better than ever. The 12th annual ‘Hell on Wheels’ Mountain Bike Tour will start its journey in Tenterfield this year, as riders pedal more than 600kms across eights days of intoxicating adventure.

This year’s tour from October 17 to 24, promises to be a great adventure taking in an array of picturesque landscapes. The tour will stopover at Tenterfield, Drake, Casino, Kyogle, Tyalgum, Murwillumbah and Ballina before finishing at Lismore.

Although the ride will be no ‘Tour de France’ or ‘Red Bull Rampage’, riders will gain the ultimate experience: the chance to help raise money to help save someone’s life. Over the last 11 years, ‘Hell on Wheels’ has raised over $475,000 for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter service.

Riders’ fees cover accommodation, all breakfasts and morning/afternoon teas, four lunches, a ride jersey, polo shirt and T-shirt.  Riders pay for their dinners, some lunches and beverages (also some coins are handy for the nightly fine sessions)….
