Suspected Ultra Light aircraft crash

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to an area 1km south east of Lismore Airport after reports from members of the public of a suspected Ultra Light Aircraft crash. Upon arrival on scene the helicopter crew commenced searching in the areas where there appeared to be smoke. During the search, local police ascertained that all aircraft from the local Ultra Light club (who had been practicing aircraft flight emergencies before the cessation of operations for the day) were present and accounted for. The helicopter returned to base.
