Bottlemart Hell on Wheels Cycle Tour
Sat 11 to Sat 18 October 2008

A great ride has been organised for this year’s 11th Bottlemart Hell on Wheels Cycle with 533km of dirt roads, bitumen, bush tracks, challenging hills and fantastic scenery over eight days.

The tour will start and finish at Coffs Harbour. This means that riders can leave their car at the security car park for seven nights at Coffs Harbour Airport (where the event will commence on Saturday 11 October).

We welcome back our major sponsor Bottlemart and look forward to visiting some of their outlets en route. The event has a wonderful history of camaraderie and fun and we look forward to continuing the tradition with some fine celebratory activities planned.

Nomination forms have been released much earlier this year and we believe the 50 riders’ positions will be snapped up fairly quickly. If you wish to participate, we suggest you print out the nomination form and return as soon as possible. Click PDF link hell-on-wheels-nomination-form.pdf

Cost
Two years ago, Derek Morrison, the editor of Australian Mountain Bike magazine, told us that the ‘Hell on Wheels’ tour is the best value for money tour in Australia. And he was right!

Apart from a fully organised mountain bike adventure over 8 days with support crew, vehicles, first aid personnel, lots of fun and great company, riders receive:

• a SCODY ride jersey
• a quality polo shirt
• a t-shirt
• 7 nights accommodation
• 7 breakfasts
• A minimum of 4 lunches

The tour support crew receive the same benefits (without the ride jersey).

Rider - hotels/cabins/caravan (shared accom) - $580

Rider – camping in own tent - $480

Support Crew - hotels/cabins/caravan (shared) or camping - $230

In addition to the above fees, each participant is expected to raise an additional amount of $200 prior to the tour for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter. This can be raised from raffle ticket sales or sponsorship, with raffle tickets or sponsorship forms provided by WLSRH. Riders may also get involved with selling raffle tickets for one night during the tour.

Payment
A deposit of $180 for riders and $100 for support crew must accompany the nomination form. Because there is a limit of only 50 riders, priority will be determined by order of receipt of entry form and deposit. Once clothing is ordered, the deposit is non-refundable. Final payment is due by 29 September, 2008

Sponsorship forms and/or raffle tickets will be forwarded to you after your nomination form is received. Sponsorships from individuals or businesses are tax deductible and we’ll provide receipts.

‘Hell on Wheels’ is a very important fundraiser for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter. It’s a charity ride to raise money to help save lives and at the same time provide good times and a great adventure for mountain bike riders.

We hope you can join us this year!
